Frigidaire manufactures products under its own brand as well as for Electrolux and Sears-Kenmore. The Electric Dryer Heating Element is an OEM replacement part designed for Frigidaire dryers. It is situated within the dryer drum cavity and generates hot air to remove moisture from laundry.
The terminal size for this element is 5/16 inch. For a 1/4 inch terminal, order part number 5300622032. Note that this heating element restring coil does not come with heater housing insulators (part number 131472100) or the terminal block (part number 3202786).
Common reasons for element failure include corrosion from environmental exposure, cracks in the filament coating due to repeated heating and cooling, and wear from prolonged use.
Signs of a faulty heating element include:
- Inability to reach necessary drying temperatures
- Extended drying times, reducing efficiency
