Surface Element Switch for Range/Stove/Cooktop
This Surface Element Switch is a genuine OEM replacement part designed for use with Frigidaire electric ranges, and is also compatible with Electrolux and Kenmore brands. It functions as both the control knob and the internal circuitry required to operate one of the smaller heating elements on the stove.
Common issues that indicate a malfunctioning surface element switch include:
1. Difficulty in igniting or adjusting the heat in the designated cooking zone.
2. A control knob that is loose, fails to click properly, or does not maintain its setting.
3. Inconsistent or failing power supply to the smaller heating coils.
4. Frequent tripping of circuit breakers when the element is used, which do not easily reset.
These problems typically stem from the natural wear and tear of the micro-switches and wiring terminals from repeated use. To extend the life of the switch, it is advisable to regularly clean around the control knobs to remove any debris that could transfer additional heat.
Replacing a faulty switch with this part can resolve issues where the element does not heat properly.
