The Frigidaire defrost bi-metal thermostat is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement designed for Frigidaire refrigerators and freezers. It is installed in the freezer section, connected to the evaporator coil. Its main role is to monitor the freezer's temperature and start the defrost cycle when needed. This thermostat ensures the defrost heater does not overheat. When the correct temperature is reached, it signals the end of the defrost cycle, allowing normal cooling to resume.
