Range/Stove/Oven Dual Safety Valve

GE offers products under the brands Hotpoint, General Electric, and Sears-Kenmore. One key safety feature on many gas ranges is the control valve. Positioned at the back of the range near the controls, this valve prevents gas from reaching the burners if the igniter fails or there is no electricity. Signs of a faulty control valve include the smell of gas near the valve, flickering burner flames, or the inability to turn the flame on high. In these cases, replacing the control valve is necessary.

Replacing the valve is straightforward and quick. First, remove the bottom of the oven, which may require a screwdriver. Next, take out the flame spreader by removing two screws and sliding it out. Then, remove the screw holding the oven burner tube to access and replace the valve.

This control valve is compatible with RCA, Kenmore, Roper, General Electric, and Hotpoint ranges. It is sold as an individual OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer.
