This product is a defrost thermostat designed for use in GE refrigerators, including models from Hotpoint, General Electric, and Sears-Kenmore. It is an OEM replacement part, model L64-41*F, which activates at 64 degrees Fahrenheit and deactivates at 23 degrees Fahrenheit to maintain the refrigerator’s optimal operating temperature.

The thermostat comes with two bare wire leads; the orange lead measures 38-1/2 inches and the yellow lead is 18 inches long. Please note, wire connectors for making splice connections are not provided with this part.

Functionally, this thermostat helps control the evaporator temperature and initiates defrosting when necessary.
