Oven/Microwave Combo Burner Safety Valve Assembly
This part is an oven safety valve for gas ovens, compatible with GE, Hotpoint, and Sears-Kenmore products. It is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part. The safety valve's function is to stop gas from reaching the burner assembly if the igniter isn't hot enough or if there is no electricity. Over time, wear and tear can cause the valve to fail. Signs of a faulty valve include the oven not heating correctly, not turning on, or losing its efficiency.
To replace the valve, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the oven and turn off the gas supply.
2. Move the range away from the wall.
3. Use a wrench to disconnect the gas supply tube from the safety valve.
4. Open the oven door to access the interior.
5. Release the hinge locks and remove the door.
6. Take out the oven racks and unthread the screws securing the bottom panel.
7. Locate the safety valve.
8. Unthread the screw holding the mounting bracket.
9. Remove the old valve and align the new one with the bracket.
10. Attach the wires to the valve terminals.
11. Reinstall the bottom panel and oven door.
This part is sold individually and sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand ovens.
