This kit is compatible with various GE brands, including Cafe, General Electric, Monogram, Haier, Hotpoint, Profile, Fisher & Paykel, and Sears-Kenmore. It includes a vaporizer pan and drip tray designed to fit seamlessly into these refrigerators. The primary function of this assembly is to manage the meltwater during the freezer’s automatic defrost cycle. The water flows out through a drain line into the tray, where the vaporizer helps in evaporating the moisture.

Constructed from stainless steel, the tray is durable and resistant to corrosion. However, it may develop rust over time and will eventually require replacement. Signs that the drip tray and vaporizer pan need replacing include water leakage from beneath the refrigerator or the drain line clogging and causing water to back up into the freezer.

To replace the unit, ensure the refrigerator is unplugged. Locate the four bolts securing the assembly at the bottom of the refrigerator. Using a ratchet and socket, remove these bolts to detach the old pan and then install the new one.
