Microwave Wave Guide
GE offers products under the brands Hotpoint, General Electric, and Sears-Kenmore. This genuine OEM replacement waveguide comes directly from the manufacturer. Waveguides in microwave ovens help distribute radiation within the microwave's cavity and protect internal components from steam and food splatter. If the waveguide becomes damaged, it should be replaced to maintain the microwave's functionality. While the microwave can operate without the waveguide, it is not advisable.
The waveguide is located inside the microwave, above the control panel. It is a thin piece of material that looks like cardboard. To replace it, first unplug the microwave. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the waveguide. Remove the damaged waveguide and install the new one using the original screws. Reconnect the microwave to the power outlet. This waveguide is made of durable plastic and is sold individually. Screws are not included. It is compatible with microwave ovens made by General Electric.
