The Refrigerator Ice Maker Auger and Crusher Blade Assembly measures 15 inches in length and 7 inches in width. It is sold as a single unit and can be used to fix an ice maker that isn't dispensing ice. This part is compatible with various brands, including Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. Additionally, Whirlpool manufactures products for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea.
The ice auger and crusher blade are responsible for crushing and shaving the ice that gets dispensed from a refrigerator. If the ice dispenser is malfunctioning, making loud noises, or not dispensing ice, the issue might lie with the auger and crusher blade. To check, visually inspect these components for any external damage.
Before beginning the repair, disconnect the refrigerator from its power source. Open the freezer door to access the ice bucket and dispenser area. The bucket is secured by fastening clips; push these clips to remove the bucket. Lay the bucket flat on its back with the auger and blade facing up. Remove the old auger and crusher blade by taking out the four hex screws. Then, remove the helix end-cap from the old system and attach it to the new one. Reverse these steps to install the new component.
This Whirlpool ice auger and crusher is a genuine OEM product sourced directly from Whirlpool. It is sold individually and is not bundled with other parts or original appliances. This part is compatible with Whirlpool, Amana, Kenmore, and Maytag appliances.
This part addresses the following issues:
- Ice maker not making ice
- Ice maker not dispensing ice
