The Refrigerator Defrost Timer is an OEM part designed to control the automatic defrost system in Whirlpool freezers. Located at the top inside the appliance, it turns off the cooling system and activates the defrost heater. This timer operates at 120V 60Hz and runs for 33 minutes every 8 hours. You can manually advance the timer by turning its dial clockwise.
This timer is situated in the condenser within the machine compartment and is secured using a timer bracket. Replacing it requires a screwdriver and a socket set. The kit comes with the timer, nuts, and screws. To install, first unplug the refrigerator, remove the bottom grille, and detach the bracket from the frame.
