Dishwasher Dishrack Roller Axle

Whirlpool manufactures products under various brands including Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. They also produce items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. This lower roller axle is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement part designed for use in dishwashers. It is a component of the lower wheel assembly, which helps guide the lower rack in and out of the dishwasher.

Over time, normal use can cause the roller axle to dry out, crack, or break. If the axle fails, the wheel may detach from the rack, making it difficult to slide the rack in and out. A missing wheel can also make the rack unlevel and harder to load. When the axle is damaged or broken, it needs to be replaced.

Replacing the axle does not require any tools. Start by opening the dishwasher and sliding out the bottom rack. Lift the rack out and place it on a counter for easier access. If the axle is damaged, remove the wheel and axle from the rack, and then pull the broken axle out of the wheel. Insert the new axle into the wheel and snap it back onto the rack. Finally, place the rack back into the dishwasher and close it.

This lower roller axle is a white molded plastic part sold individually. It is specifically made for dishwashers produced by Whirlpool and KitchenAid.
