It includes brands under the Whirlpool umbrella such as Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, and Roper, as well as Admiral. Additionally, Whirlpool manufactures compatible products for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. This Flat Style Oven Igniter Kit is designed to be a high-quality, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement part for Whirlpool gas ranges and wall ovens. Its primary role is to ignite the gas that heats the oven burner. The kit is suitable for use with various Whirlpool brand appliances, including those from Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, and Kenmore, among others. Note that it is not intended for use with round igniters or those that have blue ceramic.

When activated, the igniter heats up and glows, igniting the gas released from the burner, a process that continues until the oven reaches the set temperature.
