Dryer Gas Valve Assembly
Whirlpool manufactures products under various brands including Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. They also produce items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. The gas valve assembly, intended for use in dryers, includes solenoids or coils that regulate the gas flow by opening and closing the valve. Although constructed from durable materials, this component can deteriorate over time. If the dryer fails to produce heat during a cycle, it is advisable to test the coils with a multimeter. A reading outside the range of 1,000 to 2,000 ohms indicates the need for replacement.
Before beginning any repairs, disconnect the dryer from the power source and turn off the gas supply. Remove the lint screen and use a screwdriver to take out the screws in the housing. Disassemble the dryer to reach the gas valve and coils. Detach the mounting bracket by removing its screws, then replace the old part with a new one. Test the dryer to ensure proper function before use.
This gas valve assembly is compatible with dryers from Kenmore, Maytag, and Amana. It is an authentic OEM part, sourced directly from the manufacturer, and sold individually.
