Oven Safety Valve for Ranges/Stoves

The oven safety valve regulates the gas supply for bake and broil burners. This part is essential for stoves from brands such as Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. Whirlpool also manufactures products for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. This genuine replacement part ensures proper gas flow to the burners, enabling the stove to ignite a flame. If your stove fails to light or the burners malfunction, it may be time to replace the gas valve.

To replace the gas valve, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the stove.
2. Remove grates, burner caps, and burner bases.
3. Take off the control knobs.
4. Using a screwdriver, remove the screws securing the orifice holders to the main top.
5. Lift off the top panel.
6. Remove the seal from the valve stem and detach the spark switch.
7. Disconnect the tubing from the valve.
8. Use a socket or nut driver to unthread the screw and release the valve bracket from the manifold.
9. Detach the old gas valve.
10. Install the new valve by positioning it on the gas tubing and manifold.
11. Thread the nut to reconnect the gas tubing to the valve.
12. Reinstall the top panel.
