They also produce items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. The humidistat in a dehumidifier controls the device by turning it on and off to regulate humidity levels. If this control fails, the dehumidifier won't function correctly.<br /><br />To repair the humidistat, you only need screwdrivers. Start by removing the knob and the screws on top. Then, carefully pry back the plastic retainers on one side of the old humidistat and disconnect the wires. Install the new humidistat and reconnect the wires. Ensure the dehumidifier is unplugged from the power source before beginning the repair.
