Whirlpool manufactures products under several brands, including Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. They also produce items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. The fold away tine latch, or tine clip, in your dishwasher secures the tine row in an upright position. If your dishwasher features this latch, you can disconnect it to fold the tine row down, allowing for larger items in the dish rack. When the latch is broken or missing, the tine rows cannot stay upright. To replace the latch, remove the old one and attach the new one with the tines in the vertical position. This gray plastic part is about 6 inches long. Some dishwashers may require multiple latches, but each is sold separately.
