Washing Machine Timer
The washing machine timer regulates key operations of your washer, including wash cycle duration, water level, and tub filling and emptying. It also manages the sequence of cycle settings. If your washer fails to progress through its cycles, the timer might be the issue.
Whirlpool manufactures this washer timer, and it is compatible with various brands such as Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, Admiral, as well as some Sears-Kenmore and Ikea products. The timer is crucial for controlling time-sensitive functions like spin and wash cycles. If the washer does not complete its cycles or has trouble draining, the timer may need to be replaced.
To replace the timer, locate it on the main console behind the control panel. Remove the knob from the front of the timer. Use a screwdriver to take out the screws at the back of the control panel. Then, use a flathead screwdriver to carefully detach the outer trim of the console. Once the back of the control panel is removed, you can access the control assembly area where the timer is situated next to the cycle knob.
This timer is a genuine OEM replacement part from Whirlpool, sold individually. It is designed to be compatible with both Whirlpool and Kenmore appliances.
